Hello to all! I've been meaning to join this community for the longest. Some of you might know me for hacking the Crash Bandicoot games. I started hacking Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy in '09 due to it being one of my most favorite games of all time, and to see what secrets/mysteries it holds. A lot of unseen content has been found in both the retail and demo versions of the game that will be shared over time. I'm also one of the many fans saddened by a sequel "never" being made (never is quoted because a lot of games are developed to a certain point, and then canceled and/or not mentioned for reasons unknown). I hope to enjoy my stay here among fans of this rare game. Awww that nice from you to hear...Damn! I love your animated siggy!

Welcome aboard Hacc! You've done a wonderful job of uncovering the history of this game, and I really appreciate you sharing all that you've done. When I first messaged you asking if you'd ever played or even heard of Sphinx I honestly never expected that you would be hacking it right there and then. It was the biggest coincidence ever.
Also I hope to get the site and forum back in order this year, I said this last year but it never happened. When I first created this site I had plenty of free time and nothing to worry about but these days I have so much on my plate. But I have a real passion for this game and I'm glad there are people who share it. Thanks to everyone who has joined and contributed to our community, I realise it's the only one for this game that's still standing now and I only hope it continues to thrive as more people find us.

@ supremehacker04: Thanks! It was made from a trailer for an 80's movie called The Wraith. I've been trying to get it on DVD for the longest.
@ admin: Glad to be here! Thanks! Yeah, I remember that. That was quite a coincidence. Take your time with the site. You can't rush greatness.

I first played Sphinx on a PlayStation Magazine demo disc in '03 or '04, and thought that it was a cool game. Fast forward to December of '08 where I was given all of a relatives old PS2 games, and he happen to have the game. I didn't start playing it until March of '09.
I never got the Sakkara and Akaria areas to load in the retail (they don't seem to be present in the demo). That is to be expected, though. I'm sure one of them is hidden on that PS2 Review copy of the game with the "Fly" cheat. Yes, you can play on the unseen levels that I have found in the demo. Recently, I found an unknown area in the retail version of the game. It's dark and looks like an area where the Mummy would fall down into with crushing walls (they don't seem to work). I will have to figure out who it was meant for.
I was also wondering when that area of the forum would open up.

Oh, that sounds interesting Hacc. Any chance of images/videos of that area? As for that board, I forgot to make it accessible before, sorry. Can't remember why I did that in the first place, but it's open again.

Yes. It will be done for both the PS2 and GCN versions. That's good to hear.

Hi! I'm new to the forum/site, but I've loved Sphinx since it came out. I'm an Egypt nut and this game hit the spot for me, lol. I desperately wish there was a sequel, but I'm sure that won't happen. I'm so grateful for this site, though; seeing all the extras and stuff that was cut from the game is so awesome! <3

Welcome, docsaico! Heh. We all do. Enjoy your stay and be prepared to see more cut stuff from me and the rest, if they are able to find anything elsewhere on the net. Some of the best detectives I've seen here.

Hey! My name is rinalicat and I am an Sphinx fan who's only got a copy recently. It's a long story; back in 2004, my childhood friend bought Sphinx and, after a month, got bored and tried to palm it off on me for an unreasonable price (I was 12 and had no access to money). 7 years later, I became fascinated again and decided to get a copy for my 19th birthday (which was on Saturday).
I will take this opportunity to apologise before hand if I ever say anything that offends people; I suffer from a mild language disorder and stuff I say either doesn't come out right or I don't understand (and text doesn't help).

Two new members in a couple of days. That's great!
Welcome, rinalicat! Consider yourself lucky to have a rare game such as Sphinx these days. It's hard to come by and you can get it for cheap in some stores when you do come across it (between $5 or $10). Sphinx seems to have a great effect on people! Eurocom, you see that! Chop-chop, now! Happy Belated Birthday, as well!
It's OK; we'll get accustomed to you over time. We all come from different walks of life and speak in our own unique way. Sit back, relax and enjoy your stay! *Hacc's "Rhyme Time" brought to you by the letter H* lol

Hola! It's funny how common that story is where we played Sphinx at the time and then only came back to it years later. Welcome to the forum! And hope you had a nice birthday there!
