I've had this one glitch where everything at Abydos just disappeared, but somethings like the juggler, and the Gaurds where still there. It was kind of annoying, but it was funny that Sphinx was floating in mid-air, and then just fall back into place. I've had that a couple of times too, although it only happens for a split-second.

Nah, I've played the game alot of times before. And I Even saw a Let's Play Video, to make sure I wasn't confused, and it still didn't do it. So, I began it again.

Hey, I've been doing some poking of my own in this game, specifically looking for glitches that might aid speedrunners. There's a spot in Heliopolis where you can clip into the tunnel to Bedouin Outpost and walk around the area that's normally underwater. There's an imperfection in the ground that allow you to fall through and jump into OOB water. This lets you swim almost anywhere in Heliopolis you like, letting you skip some mummy stuff and go save the woman to get identification quickly. Before, I knew about the pound + jump strat, I also found an alternate method to do the Great Wall III break involving spawn points and out of bounds using an Atun disc. I'll dump videos for that stuff in this post I guess. All of you who are reporting swimming in air or loading bugs in Abydos...please go into greater detail if you can. I've been trying to skip the identification to get into the council chambers, since it is such a long quest, but have had no luck so far. These things might help. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7TlVPA8dtMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq0V9vm67iAwww.youtube.com/watch?v=HUKUhZPALsw

Welcome to the forums, zedlamp! Enjoy your stay here.
Thanks, for sharing these glitches. I never heard the "OOB" acronym before, but I did a quick search, and found it to mean "Out-Of-Bounds". The Uruk glitch is interesting, due to the fact that I didn't know you could exploit the spawn system like that.

Those are some pretty interesting glitches. Really well done on finding all those. As for the Abydos glitch, it just happened as I was walking back into the main square area and for half a moment everything just disappeared. Haven't experienced any swimming in air glitches there though.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJNLcFhwsoMWay I found to get the last 2 crowns with only single jump really required. In a speedrun you'd still get double jump first though as of now. If anyone has ever gotten out of bounds in the council chambers or the courtyard then please tell me -- according to that video Hacc (I think it was him?) made skipping the medicine bag would be pretty much guaranteed if we could do that...

Nice! I've never managed to get out of bounds normally in either location. The video you speak of was done by the admin here.

Me neither, I only managed to do that using the super jump code.

Aw. Well, I've found some useless clips there, but nothing to go OOB :/ Have you guys ever gone OOB in Abydos itself at all? That could be useful for skipping the pass card. Also, thank you again for making that video -- it shows me something interesting about how areas are loaded in this game. From the looks of things, areas loaded by doors are on the same map as long as there's no loading bar, but they're not always where they're "supposed" to be. This makes me wonder if we could get out of bounds somewhere in Luxor or Mysterious Location and drop into important rooms that way. If you guys can, I'd really appreciate if you would test where the treasure room in Luxor and Tut's room in Mysterious Location are OOB. If they're anywhere near/under in-bounds locations in the game, then we might be able to skip big chunks of stuff. One other thing... Have any of you ever tried to skip past the ray cutscene just before the amulet Imhotep directs you to in Uruk? If so, was there anything back there?

The 1st time I ever played Sphinx, I fell for the glitch door. I remember spending at least a hour trying to figure out where to go next. Eventually I found out about the glitch and obviously I had to restart.
